BMI Presents A Salute To Songwriters
You may know that many of the songs you hear on B98.5 were not written by the people performing them.
Nashville is loaded with hundreds of very talented songwriters. Many of these men and women are trying to break into the business, so they have side gigs. They are bartenders, waiters, waitresses, etc. When the pandemic hit, all of these service industry jobs went away.
This is why Luke Bryan, the licensing company BMI, and several national media companies have stepped up to help.
This Saturday, May 16th, at 7 PM, we'll be presenting the Salute To Songwriters event. It'll be you chance to hear some amazingly talented up-and-coming performers. The commercial free event will be hosted by Luke Bryan and some of the country's best radio DJs.
A Salute to the Songwriters will benefit the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, which was jointly created by the performing rights organizations BMI, ASCAP and SESAC to support songwriters amid pandemic-related shutdowns. Listeners can donate by texting SONGWRITERS to 41444, or via an online donation system.
