According to an article on the WABI website, a Waterville man has died while in custody at the Kennebec County House of Corrections in Augusta.

The article explains that 41-year-old Cal Jason Sawyer, of Waterville, passed away at a local hospital following a medical event at the jail on Saturday.

Authorities did not give any additional details about the medical incident that caused his death.

The article goes on to say that Sawyer was arrested on November 18th and was charged with charged with domestic violence aggravated assault, domestic violence assault, and obstructing the report of a crime or injury.
