According to WGME, two Maine men have both been charged with possessing child pornography.

The investigations into both of these men began back in march which then subsequently lead to their arrests this week. It's important to know that the two separate cases are unrelated to one another.

On Wednesday, authorities arrested 28 year old Casey Leavitt in Wiscasset at his home located on Lowell Town Road. Officials say more than 100 images of young children were discovered on the suspects cell phone which had been recovered in March. Leavitt is awaiting a court date in July and was taken to Two Bridges Jail.

In an unrelated case, authorities arrested Jeffery George, 38 of Dirigo Road in South China, on Monday at his home. Authorities say his electronics were also taken in March and analyzed for their content.

George was transported to Kennebec County Jail and will await a court appearance, likely in July. George was already a lifetime registrant of the Maine sex offender registry.

Both men ore being charged with being in possession of 'sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12.
