While on Saturday we had typical late-September / early-October weather and temperatures, Sunday was a much different story.  In most of Central Maine, we got unseasonably warm weather.  Honestly, it was basically summerlike weather.

It looks like this trend is going to continue for at least the next few days.

According to the National Weather Service, Central Maine will see temperatures in the mid to upper 70s today (Monday).  Tomorrow, we're going to have highs in the low 80s!  And, at this point, it looks like Wednesday will be almost as warm.

This seems to back up what we heard last week.  There were a few New England-connected meteorologists who have been saying that there was a good chance that Maine was going to be getting a mid-October heatwave.

This is not the only time in recent years that we have been smacked with some unseasonably warm temperatures.  If you remember, it was just last year that we got an early November heatwave.  That first week of November was punctuated by lots of sunshine and temperatures in the lower 70s.  It just happen to coincide with our Camp Out Hunger food drive and I am pretty sure that we spent most of the week in t-shirts.  Actually, I think I may have gotten a bit of a sunburn.
