Thomas College in Waterville is known for going the extra mile when it comes to its students success. It's been a commitment of Thomas College for over 125 years preparing students for success in its many under grad and graduate degrees programs.

What many don't often realize is Thomas College also has a robust athletic department as well, with 19 varsity sports programs.

To compliment those programs, Thomas College will begin construction on a brand new athletic facility this year, with a completion in early Fall 2022 according to a press release by the school.

The President of Thomas College, Laurie G. Lachance said:

"As Thomas College has grown, so too have our athletic programs, which include forty percent of our student population. Plus, we have a large and growing varsity Esports program, including more than 45 students this academic year. Building a home for these programs is critically important to the student experience."

A highly successful campaign called "Guarantee the Future" generated over $30 million for the 18,000 square foot facility.

The Athletic Director at Thomas College, Christopher Parsons said:

"This state-of-the-art facility will allow our Terriers to compete at the highest level and help attract high-performing student-athletes to our programs."

The new athletic center at Thomas College will include a variety of areas including strength and conditioning, offices, locker rooms and even an E-sports arena that will take much pressure off the current Harold Alfond Athletic center on campus.
