Most of us were blessed to have grown up in a stable home with parents or guardians who really loved us.  In addition to having our physical needs met, we were given the support that shaped us into the adults we are today.

Sadly, this is not the case for all kids in Maine.

In fact, right now, there are over a dozen Maine kids who are looking for their forever families.

If you have room in your heart, please take a look at the list.

These 17 Maine Kids Are Looking For Their Forever Families

Here are 18 Maine kids who are hoping to be adopted into loving families. Learn more about these children from the Adopt U. S. Kids website.

The above list comes from AdoptUSKids, an organization dedicated to educating the public about foster care and adoption.  They also provide child welfare professionals with education and support.

The website explains that their mission is to...

Raise public awareness about the need for foster and adoptive families for children in the public child welfare system

...and to...

Assist US states, territories, and tribes to recruit, engage, develop and support foster and adoptive families

The AdoptUSKids website also allows you to search for adoptable kids from other states.  So if you are a resident of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, or anywhere else in the United States, you can see children from your area who are in need of their forever families.

I have personally seen the power of adoption.  My parents were loving enough to adopt my older brother.  Even though he is about a decade older than I am, I learned a lot from him.  I learned about music, movies, and more.  My half siblings were all so much older than I am that if it weren't for my adopted brother, I would have basically been an only child.  Him being around really influence my development.
