Here in New England, we are blessed to have so many breathtaking Christmas lights displays.  And even though many of the best ones are professionally done, there are many lights displays that are done by amateurs with a knack for decorating.

The Jingle Bell Light Show Spectacular in Sidney is a great example of this.

The massive Christmas lights display was created and programmed by 17-year-old Messalonskee High School senior Caleb Collins.

Initially, Caleb created the display in order to compete in the Town of Sidney Holiday Decoration Contest.  After coming in 3rd place, he decided he was really going to step his game up.  That's when he make the decision to use his animatronic creation and restoration company, Hound Dog Productions, to create the singing Christmas tree and penguin.  Then he programmed the animatronics to sing popular Christmas songs.

The display is truly epic.  In addition to the singing Christmas tree and penguin, there are illuminated inflatables, synchronized lights, and Christmas light projectors lighting up the house.

Caleb, thanks for reminding us all that we have some incredibly talented high schoolers here in Central Maine.

If you want to check it out, the light display can be found at 69 Saint Pierre Drive in Sidney, Maine.  It is in operation from 6 to 8 PM every Friday and Saturday in the month of December.
