Colby College in Waterville, Maine
If you’ve lived in Maine for more than a few minutes, you’ve probably heard of Colby College in Waterville.
It’s one of those places that feels both historic and modern at the same time.
Founded way back in 1813, Colby has grown into one of the top liberal arts colleges in the entire country, and it sits right here in central Maine. The campus is beautiful, set high on Mayflower Hill with views that make you stop and take it all in. It’s the kind of spot that makes you proud to call Maine home, whether you went there or not.
Colby is known for its academics, of course, with students from all over the world coming here to study, but it’s also known for its community. Walk through downtown Waterville and you can see how connected the college is to the city.
From arts and culture to new businesses and renovations, Colby has invested heavily in the area and it shows. That energy creates opportunities for students and for the people who live and work in town. Colby is one of those Maine institutions that blends tradition with progress, and it continues to shape not just Waterville, but the whole region.
