Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood helped make a special 4th of July for U.S. astronauts living and working on the International Space Station. They did a Facebook live from Mission Control in Houston and ended their time together with the couple singing ‘The River.’ According to tasteofcountry.com the astronauts, who were both wearing American flag socks in celebration of the 4th of July, did somersaults as they said goodbye to their new friends.

During his performance at this year A Capital Fourth, Trace Adkins will perform his new song ‘Still a Soldier,' paying tribute to the nation’s military. According to tasteofcountry.com the song comes from his latest album ‘Something’s Going On.’ He says the song sends a message everyone can get behind because it pays tribute to veterans.

Jake Owen has a baseball field named after him in his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida. It’s the same field he and his twin brother played baseball on growing up. According to tasteofcountry.com from the baseball hall of fame Cal Ripkin Jr. and the town’s mayor were on hand for the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony.
