Country News: Miranda Lambert Paving the Way For Female Country Singers
When Miranda Lambert won the Female Vocalist of the Year Award at The ACM’s she talked about her appreciation for being part of great things happening with women in country music. Many female newcomers say Miranda is leading the way for them. Lambert told Taste of Country it’s all about putting your nose to the grindstone and doing the work you believe in.
It’s been four years since Trace Adkins has released an album but he has finally returned to the studio to work on his 12th album. Taste of Country notes that Adkins, who had gone through a bit of rough patch the last three years with personal problems, delivers one of his strongest album messages and vocal performances of his career. None of the songs on the ‘Something’s Going On’ album where written by Adkins, in fact he booted three of his own songs from the project.
Rory Feek, of Joey + Rory, whose daughter was born with a hole in her heart, received some got news after a medical checkup. Doctor to Feek the hole seems to be getting smaller on its own. Joey + Rory’s daughter, Indiana, was born in 2014 and shortly after was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Taste of Country learned the 3 year old learned to walk on the own in February 2017 which was shared by Rory on social media.
