
Country News: Toby Keith Not About to Apologize for Inauguration Performance
Toby Keith is responding to those who are criticizing his decision to perform at a concert that's part of Donald Trump's inauguration weekend. ‘I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military,’ Keith tells Entertainment Weekly. ‘I performed at events for previous presidents and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.’ On January 19, Keith will take part in the Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial.
Lee Greenwood is used to singing for America’s leaders: The ‘God Bless the USA’ singer has performed for five sitting presidents and at three presidential inaugurations, and he is scheduled to perform at the Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration on Thursday. He says he feels sorry for artists that turned down the invitation to perform. Greenwood said ‘You don’t get this invitation very often, l feel sorry for people who would turn down this invitation.’
Thomas Rhett‘s 2017 Home Team Tour isn’t beginning until late February, but already, the singer has extended the trek due to fan demand. Rhett’s Home Team Tour is scheduled to kick off on February 23 with Kelsea Ballerini, Russell Dickerson and Ryan Hurd as special guests throughout the trek. The closest he’ll be to Maine is Pennsylvania.
