Damariscotta Pumpkinfest And Regatta Named One Of The Best By Yankee Magazine

It's pumpkin season in Maine. There's pumpkin coffee, pumpkin ale, pumpkin pie and pumpkin festivals to checkout throughout New England. According to Yankee Magazine, we have one of New England's best pumpkin festival right here in central Maine.

The Damariscotta Pumpkifest & Regatta made Yankee Magazine's list of 5 Best Pumpkin Festivals in New England.

Here's what they said about the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta: 'It begins serenely on a May morn, when hundreds of giant-pumpkin seedlings are distributed free to volunteer growers. By Columbus Day weekend, the Midcoast of Damariscotta has succumbed to pumpkinsanity. After a weigh-off with big cash at stake, humongous gourds become artworks, go on parade, and plummet 180 feet onto derelict vehicles. Their smaller kin are hurled, blasted from cannons, or prepped to race in an unpredictable Pumpkin Derby. The hilarity peaks when costumed racers paddle and motor some of the largest specimens in a madcap Pumpkinboat Regatta.'

The Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta will be taking place October 10th through the 13th.
