Donate Blood On March 28th In Honor Of Local Hero Adam Zibura

The need for blood donations is dire. Due to the ongoing pandemic, more patients are in need than there are donors, and because of this, the blood supply is critically low.

According to a Facebook post made by Hope for Adam - Be the Match, the Augusta Elks Club has teamed up with the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive on Monday, March 28th.

Those who would like to donate blood are encouraged to make an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-Red-Cross or @redcrossblood.org and using sponsor code AugustaME.

Sadly, besides being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a blood and bone marrow cancer, Adam also has a low genetic condition, making it extremely hard for Adam to find a 100% donor match. And sadly, that's precisely what he needs, a donor that is a 100% match.

In Central Maine, Adam is a longtime volunteer firefighter for the Windsor Fire Department and a full-time emergency dispatcher for State of Maine Public Safety. Adam is the type of man who gives his all to everyone that he encounters, whether he sees them on the clock or off.

At this time, Adam is still in need of a donor. Would you consider taking a simple test? You just might be a perfect match and could save his life.
