Eaton Mountain Will Have Skiing And Snowboarding This Season

Eaton Mountain Ski Area in Skowhegan will be opening this season. This will mark the first time since 2006 that the ski area will be open.

The grand opening day for 2014 is the day after Christmas.

David and Donna Beers bought the ski area in 2008 and have offered snow tubing and ski lodge refreshments, but electrical problems prevented them from running the ski lifts.

That has all be solved and this year they will have skiing and snow boarding.

About one third of the mountain can be accessed by the new ski lifts this season, but the main chairlift should be upgraded to serve the entire mountain within the next year or two.
