Extreme Heat Causing Early School Dismissals

The extreme heat gripping Maine has caused schools to do something they generally only do in the cold and snow, close early.

Here is a list of local schools closing early on Wednesday, Aug. 28, due to the extreme heat.

• RSU 1- high school and middle school students will be dismissed at 11 a.m. All other students dismissed at noon.
• St. Dominic Academy in Lewiston - all students dismissed at noon (Lewiston public remain open as normal)
