Flight Deck Brewing in Brunswick Announces Flight Deck Pizza
Maine has the most breweries per capita in the country. Pretty impressive, right? While having so many options is awesome, some breweries stand out above the rest, and Flight Deck Brewing in Brunswick is one of those Breweries.
Flight Deck Brewing-Brunswick, Maine
Brunswick used to be the home of the Brunswick Naval Air Station. The base was closed nearly a decade ago but the town hasn't let the space go to waste. One of the additions to the former base is Flight Deck Brewing, named in honor of all the aircraft going in and out of the base after so many decades. Additionally, there are a few aircraft still in the area on display for viewing up close. Flight Deck has been open since 2017 and continues to grow in popularity and offerings to this day.
Down East Magazine even named it the "Best in Maine". Walking into the tasting room it feels like you're in a hanger. There's a ton of outdoor space to bring the dog or have an event.
You'll find many of their brews named in honor of aviation. Such as; Breaking the Sour Barrier, WINGS, and Landing Lights Pilsner.
Beer? Check! Let's Talk Eats
Cook's Lobster out of nearby Bailey Island has a food truck dedicated to Flight Deck called Cook's Takes Flight. They have items such as poutine, lobster wontons, lobster roll, burger, fries, and more! (See their full menu here.)
And now in addition to Cook's Takes Flight, Flight Deck Brewing is now offering their very own pizza, Flight Deck Pizza! The pies roll out at the end of May. Flight Deck says they will be focusing on local ingredients and have a copper-clad pizza oven that was designed in Italy and built in Maine. Is there a better combination than pizza and beer?
