Gas Prices Continue To Drop; Where Are The Cheapest Places To Fill Up In Central Maine?
As we head into the heart of summer and the 4th of July, there is more good news for travelers as gas prices continue to drop here both in Maine and nationally.
According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine this week is $2.234, which is down three cents from last weeks statewide average price of $2.264 a gallon.
Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.251 which is down from last weeks national average of $2.284.
We searched locally for the lowest gas prices in Central Maine.
In Augusta, the cheapest price we could find was at the Kenoco Station at 363 Western Ave which is selling gas at $2.17 a gallon. Other places in Augusta include the Citgo at 205 Western Ave, the Irving on 284 Civic Center Drive, the Kenoco on 291 State Street, the Sunoco on 240 Riverside Drive, and J & S Oil at 132 Mount Vernon Ave. All five of those stations reported gas at $2.19 a gallon.
In Waterville, the Shell Station at 500 KMD reported gas at $2.11 a gallon. Other inexpensive places to buy gas in Waterville are J & S Oil at 320 KMD which is listing gas at $2.12 a gallon, and the Irving at 445 KMD, which is selling gas at $2.13 a gallon.
In Gardiner, the cheapest place we could find for gas was at the Citgo 65 Brunswick Ave which is reporting in at $2.19 a gallon.
In Skowhegan, the cheapest place we could find for gas was at the Shell Station on Free St & South St which is selling gas at $2.19 a gallon.
In Lewiston, Berube's Auto Care at 147 East Ave, and the 7-Eleven on 345 Main Street both reported gas at $2.18 a gallon.
And in Winthrop, the cheapest place we could find for gas was at the Shell Station on 48 Main Street, which is reporting in at $2.18 a gallon.
