It may be Spring on the calendar, but the weather and the temperatures still say Winter here in Maine. Ski resorts are still open, and busy, you still need a coat outside because winter hasn't let go yet, and with this weeks forecast there is even more snow on the way.

But the sure signs of Spring are already here. You just have to look for them. Like construction has begun on just about every street in Portland, ice cream shops are shaking off the cobwebs of the off season and have opened, and gas prices here in Maine have started to creep back up.

According to the Associated Press, The national average price of $2.74 is up 27.6 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 9.3 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. Here in Maine we've seen the prices inch up 1.8 cents per gallon, averaging $2.59. Still lower than the national average, but give it time.
