In Maine, there are very few things that we're super passionate about. We love our maple syrup, our Subarus and our beer.

Fortunately, on Saturday, October 7, Mainers will be able to pile into their Subarus and head to downtown Gardiner for some of the most delicious beer this side of the Mississippi.

Gardiner Main Street is proud to welcome back the incredibly popular Swine & Stein Event for its 14th year.

The annual event is an all-day celebration for Maine craft beers, local bands and finger-licking eats.

With loads of food trucks, dozens of Maine breweries and an ample array of live music, the event shuts down Gardiner Main Street to vehicles for the day and allows attendees to explore the charming Maine downtown on foot- all while toting your sample glass along with you.

In addition to the breweries and food trucks, many downtown businesses will be open and offering special treats and incentives, too.

And if you have a broad pallet, you'll be thrilled to know it's not just beer you'll be sampling at the Swine & Stein.

According to the event's website, attendees will have the chance to sample not only beer but a variety of wines, rums, meads, ciders, spirits and more.

The event page highlights a number of Maine’s best and emerging bands for the music lineup. They include The Scolded DogsThe Shakes, and Astroplanet.

In addition to the music and tastings, there will be other activities going on throughout the day as well including a frozen t-shirt contest, beard and mustache competition, rock paper scissors contest as well as games like cornhole, pass the pig and giant Jenga!
