How Energy Efficient Is Maine?

The colder weather is right around the corner and I plan on buttoning up my house this weekend. For me, that involves putting in the storm windows, plastic on the inside of my living room windows and plastic over the skirting of one corner of my mobile home.

WalletHub.com conducted a study on how energy efficient forty-eight U.S. states are, Alaska and Hawaii were excluded. They measured the efficiency of car and home-energy consumption to make their rankings.

Maine came in 13th, ranking 5th in home energy efficiency and 41st in car energy efficiency.

New York came in first and South Carolina was last.
