How New England Didn't Top This List is Mind-blowing

It doesn't matter whether it's seeing the Red Sox at Fenway, the Celtics or the Bruins at TD Garden, or the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

If you've been to a game for a New England sports team, you know. You know. Hell, even the players and everyone else know -- New England sports fans are next level, and that's not always necessarily a compliment.

In fact, we are such a hardcore, loyal, loud -- and often times harsh -- fanbase, that in their 2004 song Tessie, the Dropkick Murphys refer to Red Sox fans as "Boston's 10th man" (since there are nine players on a baseball field for one team.)

No matter the sport, we'll talk smack to whoever the opposing team is, often going too far and taking shots at someone's personal life.

(Author's Note: I remember being at a Sox game one time sitting next to the bullpen, and then Anaheim Angels' pitcher Brendan Donnelly was just coming back from an injury that could have killed him after a fly ball hit him in the face and he lost half the blood in his body -- a guy sitting in front of me talked smack to Donnelly about that and he got tossed out of Fenway.)

Hell, we talk smack about and boo our own home team and players when they're not performing to the level we expect them to.

Which is why it's shocking that in a recent viral Instagram reel listing the Top 10 Most Annoying NFL Fan Bases, New England wasn't ranked on top.

I mean, at least he ranked us in the Top 3 but still, there's no way we shouldn't be #1 on this list easily.

Skinny New England Home Built Out of Spite

As the story goes according to Boston Magazine, the home was said to have been built by a man in 1890 on a plot of land that was left by his father to him and his brother. Well, this guy had been off fighting in the Civil War, and once he returned he discovered that his brother had gone ahead and built a big house on that land.

Then, out of pure spite he built the skinny spite house on the remaining plot between his brother's house and another building to block sunlight and harbor views from his brother.

It went up for sale in 2021 for around $1.2 million by Carmela Laurella CL Properties, and later sold that year for $1.25 million.
