Calling all feline lovers! Here is a purr-fect place for you to visit. It's Maine's very first cat café located right in Westbrook.

Did you know that the concept of cat cafés started out in Japan and has gained global popularity? There is just something inviting when it comes to walking into a café full of cuddly kitties.

Maine's first cat café is called the MEow Lounge located at 630 Main Street in Westbrook.

The article states that the cats hanging out are all from shelters and can be adopted. So feel free to play with them, connect with them, and maybe, bring one home.

Anne Beal is the owner of MEow Lounge and she told WMTW that she wanted to give these animals a safe space to connect with others without having the pressure to adopt, like a shelter.

So there's no need to feel the weight of commitment hanging over your head while you're sipping your coffee, playing with the cats.

It's like speed dating for potential fur babies!
