Why Did Tim McGraw Hand Russell Dickerson $20K in Cash? (WATCH)
When it comes to touring in country music, there's an unspoken tradition.
At the end of a tour, the headliner typically gives their opening acts a gift as a way of saying thank you and showing appreciation for sharing the road together.
But in 2022, there was a gift exchange between Russell Dickerson and Tim McGraw that we are just now finding out about — and it totally knocked our socks off.
Tim McGraw Once Gave Russell Dickerson $20K in Cash
On a recent interview on the Bobbycast, Dickerson tells the interviewer, "Tim McGraw, at the end of a 2022 tour, sat down outside my bus and just slapped me up twenty bands. Just a crispy twenty Gs."
Dickerson said McGraw was incredibly smooth about it. According to him, the country superstar simply reached into the pocket of the tight jeans fans have become accustomed to seeing him perform in and pulled out a stack of cash.

The "Happen to Me" singer described the moment: "He just stood up and took it out of his back pocket and he was like 'There ya go, buddy. What a great tour.'"

Don't think for a moment it was a check or a money order we are talking about here, Dickerson swings back around to confirm again that it was "Cash. Cold, hard cash."
Dickerson said that when McGraw walked up to him, he noticed a large bulge in the back pocket of the singer's jeans, but he had no idea what it was.
It didn't take long to find out.
"He was caked up, bro," Dickerson joked, revealing that the lump was actually a stack of cash McGraw had tucked away in his pocket.
Dickerson, being the funny guy that he is, wrapped up the story with one final joke about McGraw.
"He does work out a lot," he quipped.
