Central Maine’s First-Ever Inflatable Nightclub Was a Huge Success Over The Weekend
If you read the headline to this article and your first thought was "What you talkin' bout, Willis?", you're not alone.
However, the title is an exact depiction of what this is all about: Central Maine's First-Ever Inflatable Nightclub.
Let's be honest, it's pretty safe to say that the nightlife scene in the greater Augusta/Waterville area has been dwindling for quite some time. Maybe it's just a change in trends or maybe it's just another "casualty of COVID," however, no matter how you dice it, it remains true.
People just aren't going out to the same places or in the same numbers that they used to.
This is where Maine's new "Portah Party" enters the chat.
But how did this come to be? Well, it's really quite simple.
Local funnyman and all-around nice guy Kaleb Pushard is the man behind the magic. Known for his involvement with MIKA Academies, Skybox Holiday & Event Lighting and Hydrolux Pressure Washing, Kaleb is no stranger to the entrepreneurial spirit.
That's why when he saw this new trend, he just had to get in.
Kaleb recently ordered a fully-inflatable nightclub and, quite honestly, it's frickin' epic. It's like a bounce house had an affair with a dance club and their baby is the Portah Party.
This massive inflatable space comes to life when the sound system gets cranked up and the lasers come on.
The Portah Party debuted this weekend at the Augusta Civic Center during the MIKA Academy Awards and to say it was a "big hit" would be a drastic understatement. Parents and kids alike couldn't wait to walk inside and experience this truly immersive club-like atmosphere.
If you're thinking that this looks like it's just for kids, you are sorely mistaken. This rig can be rented out for adult parties, family gatherings, corporate events, ice fishing tourneys and more. And, because it's so huge, there's plenty of room for a pop-up bar inside.
