
15-Year-Old Arrested in Connection With Lewiston Shooting
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened earlier this month in Lewiston.
According to Lewiston police, officers responded to Webster Street around 3 a.m. on June 14 after a woman had been shot.
Police said the woman suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
On Tuesday, the Lewiston Police Department announced that a 15-year-old male had been arrested in connection with the shooting. He is currently charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
Following his arrest, the teenager was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland, WGME reported.
Police have not released additional details about what led up to the shooting or the relationship, if any, between the teen and the victim.
WGME said the investigation remains active, and police say more charges are expected as the case continues. Officials have not said whether any other suspects are being sought, but they are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Lewiston police. As the investigation continues, more details may be released in the days ahead.
