Maine News Station Reports Teen Driver Clocked at 110 MPH

Stories like this make me nervous to be on the road with teen drivers. Don't get me wrong, I know that the majority of teens practice safe and responsible driving habits when they're behind the wheel, but people like this don't help the cause.

According to WGME 13, a 17-year-old boy in New Hampshire was driving at an alleged speed of 110 miles per hour on on Interstate 93 on Sunday. New Hampshire State Police were able to catch up with, and subsequently stop the speeding Toyota Highlander.

Police say that when they approached the vehicle they quickly realized there were five other passengers in the vehicle with the driver. In addition to the other passengers that were inside, New Hampshire officials say they also found alcohol inside the car.

The 17-year-old driver, who was not named in the article, was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with reckless driving, speeding, and a minor transporting alcohol. WGME reported that three of the other youths in the car were taken into protective custody following the traffic stop.

Police say that since his arrest, the 17-year-old driver has posted bail and has been released. This is an ongoing story that we will keep updated as more information becomes available to us.
