Relive Your Childhood With Classics 80s Movies at Two Theaters in Maine
If you grew up in the '80s, here's your chance to be a kid again by seeing these classic movies on the big screen once again.
Theater and Drive-In
Both Flagship Cinemas and Prides Corner Drive-In are showing '80s movies on the big screen. It's been a long time since I've seen these movies in a theater, and I'm really thinking about going to experience them again, as I did when I was a kid.
Prides Corner Drive-In
It's a double feature of two '80s classics playing at Pride's Corner Drive-In. This is where I saw Superman III and Arthur starring Dudley Moore. I actually liked Arthur better than Superman III. They should have quit after Superman II.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, Pride's Corner Drive-In is showing a double feature starting with a real classic.
The Goonies
I was never a big fan of The Goonies. It was released the same year as Back to the Future, which, in my opinion, was a much better film. Maybe it's because I was 14 at the time and didn't like The Goonies because I thought it was for kids younger than me. I know that it's a huge classic for many who saw it in 1985.
Jaws
Feature number 2 comes on the 50th anniversary of Stephen Spielberg's masterpiece, Jaws. It's a full hour into the movie before you finally see the shark, but it's a moment you'll never forget.
Showtimes on August 29, August 30, and September 1 are at 8 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. Gates open at 7:30 p.m.
Flagship Cinemas
Flagship Cinemas in Auburn, Falmouth, Thomaston, and Waterville will be showing a fantastic 80s box office smash!
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Raiders of the Lost Ark stars Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, who is in search of the Holy Grail. George Lucas wrote the script and Stephen Speilberg directed this classic.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark will be shown at participating Flagship Cinemas on September 6 and 7 at 10:00 a.m. and on September 10 at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are just $4.
