The convenience of living near an airport might be unmatched.

Think about it. No long drives to major cities to fly out. No monstrous parking fees or shuttle prices. And is there anything worse than having a long drive back home after landing from a business trip or vacation?

This is why having Portland Jetport continue to expand its flights and destinations is a massive boost to the region. There's nothing like driving a short distance, parking for relatively cheap, breezing through the quiet security line, and walking just 20 feet to your gate. It's honestly an exceptional experience.

Airports can literally drive a person mad, so having this option right here at home is a godsend.

I bring this up because, according to WMTW, the Jetport is once again adding new destinations. Who's ready to visit Ohio? Because new nonstop flights to the Buckeye State are coming our way, courtesy of Breeze Airways.

Breeze Airways has quickly become a consumer favorite in the airline industry. The low-cost, no-frills flights are exactly what people are looking for, especially in a day and age when expenses are out of control.

The carrier has been a great addition to the Portland Jetport since arriving a few years ago. They continue to expand their destination list, including this recent announcement.

What are the New Non-Stop Destinations out of Portland International Jetport?

Starting in July, Breeze Airways will offer direct flights from Portland to Akron-Canton, Ohio, and Cincinnati, Ohio.

WMTW also reports that the airline will provide one-stop, same-plane service to Savannah, Georgia, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, giving Mainers more convenient travel options from Portland — something everyone is looking to do because who on Earth wants to fly out of Logan? No thanks.

How many Non-Stop Routes Does Breeze Fly Out of Portland International Jetport?

With the addition of nonstop flights to Akron-Canton and Cincinnati, Breeze will now offer 11 nonstop routes out of Portland — the most of any airline at the airport. It should be noted that some of the routes are seasonal.

I actually flew Breeze for the first time back in 2024. It was a direct flight to Raleigh, and it was smooth sailing. From gate to gate, it could not have gone better. Plus, the planes are clean and spacious, with exceptional service. I could not recommend Breeze enough.

I also commend them for giving Mainers so many options out of Portland Jetport. Not only does it make travel more convenient, but who doesn't love more money staying in the state?

I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for both the Portland Jetport and Breeze Airways. Both are doing a superb job of making sure I never have to step foot in Logan again.

I guess I'm saying they deserve a Nobel Prize.
