Target has been in the news a lot over the past six months as they continue to evolve their stores and shopping experience in hopes of keeping customers happy.

It all started with Target changing how their self-checkout lanes work. It's now a 10-items-or-less process, and the majority of customers have enjoyed the change (as long as the self-checkout registers stay in working order).

Target then decided to keep their cashier lanes moving quicker by eliminating payment by personal check. That payment method isn't particularly popular anyway, but its elimination ensure cashier lanes will continue to move and not bog down.

The latest addition to their South Portland store will be an Ulta. According to PR Newswire, Ulta will feature a curated collection of Kylie Jenner's bestselling cosmetic products, alongside some of her personal favorites. A sign is already in the store, letting shoppers know it's coming soon.

There's also going to be another addition to Target stores that will be subtler than the Ulta brand but just as important. Target is planning a broad expansion in their hair care product offerings. According to Glossy, Target is looking to launch exclusive products, add extras for digital consumers, and capitalize on high-profile partnerships (similar to what they're doing with Ulta).

What hasn't arrived at Maine Target stores yet is the other additions. More than 40 Target locations nationwide now feature Apple shops, a smaller version of the Apple Store. Target also has 25 locations nationwide that feature Disney Clubhouses and signature offerings directly from Disney.

The addition of Ulta at Target will not affect the already-existing Ulta Beauty at the Maine Mall.
