It didn't take long for someone to sue LL Bean over their new return policy. An unhappy customer claims Bean broke their promise to their customers by changing the policy.

The lawsuit was filed in Chicago contending that customers bought items because of the 'lifetime' guarantee and that is a warrenty breach.

LL Bean announced Friday it's imposing a one-year limit for most returns, because it says too many people are abusing the system.

A spokesperson for the company said the lawsuit misrepresents the return policy because items purchased before the change are not subject to the new policy as long as they have a receipt.

On abcnews.go.com the lawsuit seeks unspecified damages or an order that L.L. Bean honor the old warranty.
