Luke Bryan Tour Truck Crashes Into New York Highway Overpass
Luke Bryan's summer tour faced a setback early Monday morning (Aug. 28) when an equipment truck struck an overpass in New York.
New York state police report that Bryan's tractor trailer crashed into the Sunrise Highway overpass on the Wantagh State Parkway in Wantagh, N.Y. hours after the singer performed at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater as part of his Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day Tour.
No one was injured in the accident, but Bryan is still reeling from bad allergies after four back-to-back shows in the area. His voice was affected, and he apologized for struggling onstage in tweets after one of the shows.
"Gave you all I could," he said after Sunday night's (Aug. 27) show. "What's crazy is my allergies," he added. "I focus all day to sing good. And some days the kitchen sink won't work. Then you just drink tequila. Ha."
Bryan's Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day Tour continues through October, while his ninth annual Farm Tour is scheduled to run Sept. 28 through Oct. 7. The singer also recently released the lead single off his forthcoming album. Titled "Light It Up," Bryan wrote the song with Old Dominion's Brad Tursi.
Bryan hinted that his new album will have a holiday release, meaning sometime after Thanksgiving but before Christmas.
