The latest numbers from the US census estimates shows that Maine's population grew at a very small rate from 2010 to 2015. How small? Maine only added 967 residents in that five year span. In fact, Maine actually lost population from 2014 to 2015.

Southern Maine tended to add more population while some of central and northern Maine lost residents.

In Augusta, the population in 2010 was 19,136. In 2015, the population was down to 18,471.

Bangor also saw a drop of 648 residents from 2010 to 2015, with the population now at 32,391.

Presque Isle was down 521 residents from 2010 to 2015 with a population of 9,692.

Windham added the most residents in that five year span, they added 815 people for a population of 17,816.

Falmouth, Gorham, Scarborough and Portland rounded out  the list of five communities that added the most people over the five-year period.
