Central Maine Woman Dead Following Wednesday Crash
A young woman was Winslow was killed and her passenger seriously injured in an early Wednesday morning crash in China.
According to an article on the KJ website, Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a crash on Maple Ridge Road at just after 4 AM on Wednesday, December 27. The reporting caller said they spotted a blue Jeep that had left the road and reportedly hit a tree.
The article goes on to explain that when they arrived, they found 22-year-old Faith Pomerleau of Winslow dead at the scene.
First-responders from several agencies local worked to extricate the Jeep's passenger, 20-year-old Morgan Lacombe, from the wreckage. Lacombe was taken by Delta Ambulance to Augusta's MaineGeneral Medical Center. Due to the serious nature of her injuries, she was later flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
There is no word on her current condition.
The Kennebec County Sheriff's Department was aided by firefighters from Winslow, China, and Vassalboro.
While members of law enforcement are continuing to investigate the crash, they do say that they believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
