
Central Maine Woman Killed in Monday Morning Pedestrian Crash Identified
According to an article on the WMTW website, a Central Maine woman is dead following an early Monday morning crash in Lewiston.
The article explains that, at about 4:30 on Monday morning, 44-year-old Jessica Sawyer was struck by a pickup truck as she attempted to cross Main Street in Lewiston.
The truck was reportedly driven by a 31-year-old man from Auburn, Maine.
Sawyer was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where she was pronounced dead.

The street was closed for several hours as police investigated the crash and cleaned up the scene. It is believed weather factored heavily into the cause of the crash. So far, police have not charged the driver of the truck in the crash.

The article goes on to say that this is at least the 50th pedestrian-related incident in Maine since January 1st.
