MeDOT Bridge Bracket Madness: Maine’s Favorite Bridge 2019 is…

It was a March Madness type of voting for Maine's Favorite Bridge 2019. (What? When did we start voting for our favorite bridge?)  The winner is the Cpl. Eugene Cole Memorial Bridge. According to the Maine DOT Facebook page the final round was Deer Isle Bridge in Sedgwick vs Corporal Eugene Cole Memorial Bridge in Norridgewock. The Cole Memorial Bridge won with 57% of the vote. While the Deer Isle bridge is lovely how could you not vote for the Cole Bridge? That bridge is way more than 'just a bridge' it is sentimental...considering who it is named for and why it is a monument and daily way to remember Corporal Eugene Cole.
