On the night of June 10th, 2023, 31 year old Amber Robbins was struck and killed as she walked along Main Street in Southwest Harbor, Maine.  The person who struck her did not stop.  It was not until the morning of Sunday, June 11th that her body was discovered in a ditch on the side of the road.

Following an extensive investigation, law enforcement has made an arrest in the tragic hit-and-run case.

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, police have arrested 31 year old John Holdsworth, of Hancock, and charged him with manslaughter in the incident.

The press release goes on to say:

Thursday morning , July 27, 2023, Holdsworth was arrested and transported to the Hancock County Jail. His initial court appearance is expected to be on Friday, July 28, 2023. The case is being prosecuted by the Hancock County District Attorney’s Office.

It is expected that Holdsworth's first appearance in court will be on Friday, July 28th.
