This Sunday in March is Maine Maple throughout the state. It always lands on the 3rd Sunday in March and this marks the 34th annual event. Participating sugarhouses will be open to you to enjoy freshly made maple Syrup and candy, demonstrations and tours.

The maple industry in Maine has grown quite a bit in the past 5 to 6 years. Since 2010 the output of the maple industry in Maine has almost doubled. Last year in 2016 the yield of maple was 675,000 gallons, up from 315,000 gallons in 2010.

According to boothbabyregister.com the Maine maple industry contributes $48.7 million to the states economy.
