According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, a Norridgewock man has been arrested for the alleged killing of his roommate.

The press release explains that, on Saturday morning, members of the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit were called to a residence on River Road in Norridgewock.  Called to the scene by the Somerset County Sheriff's Department, police found the body of 38-year-old Christopher Nickerson, a deceased male.

Mr. Nickerson's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be performed.

Following the initial investigation, police arrested 59-year-old Daniel Markey and charged him with Nickerson's killing.

*NOTE - All suspects are considered innocent until being found guilty in a court of law

Markey was due to make his first appearance in court on Monday at 1 p.m.
