In one of the best snowmobile seasons in the past twenty years in Maine, riders are optimistic that parts of the state could see snowmobiling last into May.

Bob Meyers, the executive director of the Maine Snowmobile Association, told the Kennebec Journal 'It's really been an extraordinary winter, just a good old-fashioned winter like we haven't seen in a long time.'

The northern parts of Somerset and Franklin counties, could see enough snow for the season to stretch into May. Areas like Jackman, Kingfield and the Forks.

The season for central and southern Maine is over.
