Nearly a year after the child's passing, the Maine State Police have announced that an arrest has been made in the Christmas Day death of a little girl in Lincoln County, Maine.

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, the  Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit Central arrested 29-year-old Tyler Witham-Jordan of, Edgecomb, on Friday, October 6th, 2023.  He has been charged with murder in connection with the death of 3 year old Makinzlee Handrahan.

The press release explains that:

On Sunday, December 25, 2022 at approximately 7:37 am,  the Lincoln County Communications Center received a 911 call in Edgecomb for a 3-year-old that was not breathing.  The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta conducted an autopsy and ruled the death a homicide. The cause of death is being withheld at this time

Following his arrest, Tyler Witham-Jordan, was taken to Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset.  The press release explains that it is likely that his first appearance in court will be at some point next week.

At the time of the incident, the accused was the boyfriend of the victim's mother.
