According to an article on the WCSH 6 website, two teenage boys are in trouble after a series of crimes in several Maine towns.

The boys are facing charges after an investigation into a string of burglaries, attempted break-ins, and vehicle thefts across several Maine communities.

According to a release from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, the case involved a number of targeted businesses, including Northeastern Firearms, G3 Firearms, and Vacationland Cannabis in Turner, along with First Due Firearms in Sabattus.

Authorities say the suspects were also connected to the theft of three vehicles reported in Portland, Westbrook, and Auburn.  Those vehicles were later recovered by the Westbrook Police Department and the sheriff’s office.

Officials say the investigation began after a series of incidents throughout March 2026 involving commercial burglaries, attempted break-ins, and stolen vehicles.  Using surveillance video, forensic and digital evidence, and coordination between multiple agencies, investigators were able to identify the suspects.

A 16-year-old was taken into custody by Portland Police on April 2 on a warrant issued by the sheriff’s office.  A second suspect, a 17-year-old, was arrested by Portland Police on April 20 on a separate warrant tied to the case.

Because both individuals are juveniles, authorities say no further identifying details will be released.

The investigation is still ongoing, and officials say more charges could be filed.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office also credited the Westbrook and Portland police departments, along with other agencies, for their help in the case.
