If you are very active on social media, there is a good chance you started to see rumors about a child being hit by a tractor trailer as they left the bus.  Sadly, those rumors are true.

According to WMTW, it has been confirmed that a 13 year old boy was hit by a tractor trailer truck shortly after he exited the school bus in Gray.

The incident reportedly happened on Lewiston Road in Gray.

The student was taken to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.

The article goes on to explain that the superintendent of MSAD 15 Gray-New Gloucester has confirmed that he met with a crisis response team following the incident.

Our thoughts go out to all those involved.

And, at this time, let's not point fingers at people for causing the crash.  As police continue to investigate, it is clear we do not know exactly what happened, yet.

We will update this story when we get more details
