According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, the Maine State Police responded to a fatal crash on Blue Hill Road in Surry on Friday afternoon.

The press release goes on to say that the deadly three-vehicle crash happened Friday afternoon on Blue Hill Road in Surry.  The incident reported happened just before 2:45 PM.

Investigators say a 2015 Subaru Forester was traveling north when it crossed the center line for reasons still unknown and hit two southbound vehicles, a 2018 Honda Fit and a 2024 Ram 2500.

The driver of the Subaru suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  That driver has been identified as 47-year-old Mark Nevells of Brooksville.

The drivers of the other two vehicles were taken to a local hospital, treated, and later released.

The crash remains under investigation.
