Massachusetts Has a New Millionaire

When I play the lottery, I play for 'life-changing' money.

What does that mean?

You probably won't see me tossing down $5 for a scratch-off ticket that could be worth $100,000. It's the same reason why you'll never see me playing video slots at one of our great local casinos. The potential take is just not high enough.

I am not thrilled by gambling. I am thrilled by the prospect that I could win enough money to pay off the mortgage or finance the business I have always wanted to open.

Clearly, I am not alone in my thinking. Millions of people play Powerball, Mega Bucks, Mega Millions, and similar games each week.

New England Has A New Powerball Millionaire

According to the Powerball website, New England has a new millionaire.

Someone has won a million dollars from a Powerball ticket that was purchased in Massachusetts. At this point, we do not know who that person or where he or she lives. We're not even sure where the ticket was purchased. We can imagine that information will come to light at some point in the next few weeks.

However, no one won the jackpot in Wednesday's drawing. The jackpot sits at $123 million. Your next chance at all that money is in Saturday night's drawing.
