Even though we're on the verge of getting closer to spring and we change the clocks ahead this weekend, is sure looks like Mother Nature didn't get the memo that most of us are all set with getting any more significant snowfall this winter season.

Unfortunately, or fortunately if you're a snow lover, it looks like after a fairly quiet upcoming weekend (weather-wise), most all of New England is going to be slammed by what some are billing as the 'largest storm of the winter' so far.

Remember last week when we go that doozy of a storm? At that point we thought for sure that with warmer weather approaching that would be the last big hoorah of the year. Oops, guess not.

According to WGME Meteorologist, Christian Bridges, following the quiet weekend, it is increasingly likely that a monster nor'easter will form over most of New England. Bridges says that we will likely see a cloudy Monday with fairly mild temperatures as the storm system begins to move into the region.

It looks like that big storm, capable of dumping well over a foot on Maine and surrounding states, will move in late Monday or early Tuesday, depending on exactly where you live.

And, in typical nor'easter style, WGME is reporting that strong winds and flooding, in addition to the heavy snowfall, will be likely results of this storm. Oh, and if you're wondering about rain mixing in with it all- the short answer is 'probably'. And, you already know, the rain is likely to mix in at the coast.

WGME says this is likely to be a 'long-duration' storm, moving in on Monday night and not fully clearing out until midday Wednesday. Personally, I hope this thing blows out to sea and we get some nice motorcycle riding weather next week- but that ain't likely bub.

Stay safe. And no, I don't want to build a snowman.
