McDonald’s Bringing Back Nearly Forgotten Favorite Of The 1980s
If you frequent chain restaurants, you have probably come to realize that they are always tweaking their menus. Depending on current dining trends, and how well certain products are doing, they will occasionally discontinue or add items.
McDonald's, like all burger chains, do it frequently. There are websites that are literlly loaded with discontinued McDonald's products. Do you remember the McLobster? McPizza? McStuffins? McDonald's chicken fajitas?
I really miss those McDonald's fajitas! They were so good and so cheap!
Sometimes, these products are brought back - often for a limited time.
It looks like that is exactly what they are doing with a new addition to the McDonald's McCafe bakery menu.
According to Boston's Channel 7, on September 14th, McDonald's will bring back the cheese Danish. It is a slightly different, higher end, take on a product that the restaurant had back in the 1980s and 1990s.
The article on the TV station's website explains that it is:
a flaky pastry filled with sweet cream cheese and topped with a buttery streusel and light vanilla drizzle
While the McCafe products have been around for a few years, the restaurant chain rolled out a new line of bakery items in 2020. Rolled out during the pandemic, the new items were intended to given breakfast customers new options. Other bakery items include the apple fritter, blueberry muffin, and cinnamon roll.
We know that the rollout date for the item is September 14th, but we have no idea how long they will stick around. And, while it is meant as a breakfast item, they will be selling them all day.
