Trick or Treat! MIKA’s Spook-tacular Trunk-or-Treat Returns to Central Maine
The way we celebrate Halloween has changed a lot over the last few decades.
When most of us were kids, old-school trick-or-treating was still the thing to do. We would dress up in our cheap costumes with cheap plastic masks and wander from house to house. Then, we'd go to the hospital to have our candy x-rayed because everyone was so freaked out about someone putting needles or razor blades into our Milky Way bars.
These days, instead of wandering from door to door, most families choose to attend Halloween festivals, like Trick-or-Treat on Water Street or Nightmare on Main Street, or they attend a few trunk-or-treat events.
MIKA's Manchester, Maine, Trunk-or-Treat
One of the best, and longest running, trunk-or-treats in Central Maine will be back in 2024.
According to a Facebook event post, MIKA in Manchester, Maine, will be hosting its 9th annual trunk-or-treat on Saturday, October 19th. This year's event, which will take place at MIKA's location on Western Avenue in Manchester, will happen between 5 PM and 7 PM.
The event posting says, in part:
We plan to fill the parking lot with cars, trucks, firetrucks, boats, police cars and more! Each vehicle will have their trunk decorated and children will walk from trunk to trunk gathering goodies & enjoying festive halloween decorations.
One of the great things about this event is that not only will kids have a chance to get candy from dozens of trunks, but they will also be invited into a candy land inside the MIKA building.
If the weather gets nasty, the event will be held on Sunday, October 20th.
And, of course, the event is free and open to the public.
