More Surgery For Sarah – See What’s Happening This Week

I prefer to call it a 'procedure' vs 'surgery'.  It sounds less invasive, I guess.  Regardless, there will be major changes happening in my head...I'm eager to be on the recovering side of it...but I'm nervous, too.

Thursday, I will have 2 stents placed in my brain.  These stents will open up my right transverse sinus (a large vein that removes blood from your brain) and, hopefully, encourage the blood to flow properly...as well as alleviate the massive pressure I feel.

A lot of people have reached out to me asking 'how many more surgeries will you need?'.  The truth is, I don't have the answer for that.  There is no cure for chiari.  Only surgeries and procedures...to get me to the next surgery or procedure... to minimize the symptoms.  Sometimes, after one things is repaired, something goes haywire somewhere else.  My fingers are crossed that I'll have a break for awhile.
