On nearly any list of the toughest jobs in America, law enforcement would be near the top of the list.  Being a cop, state trooper, sheriff's deputy, etc has never been an easy job and the job has only gotten more difficult since 2020.

Here at the radio station, we appreciate our law enforcement and all they do to keep us safe.  It looks like we are not alone in feeling this way.

According to an article on the WGME website, a new poll finds that the majority of Maine residents polled had a positive view of Maine law enforcement.  The poll, which was done in the fall of 2022 and used the responses from 620 respondents, was conducted by Digital Research Inc.

The poll found that 84% of Maine residents had a positive view toward Maine police.  Additionally, the poll found that 33% of people had a strongly positive view of law enforcement.

Only 12% of people had a negative view of Maine law enforcement.

The poll also found that over 90% of people believe the hiring of additional law enforcement officers needs to be a priority.
