Have you tried the latest smoothie and tea craze? These smoothie and juice bars are popping up all over the place. I admit I have had a few here and there. I certainly like the convenience.

Just search the word "nutrition+your town" and you will come up with a several options as they seem to be all the rage right now. My latest venture was to Coastal Nutrition and Energy located in Newcastle, Maine. The menu is extensive and a bit daunting. You can choose from different teas and get it boosted or lite depending on the amount of caffeine and energy supplements you want. My first tea was the strawberry lemonade. I liked the flavor and especially liked that it only had 20 calories. I’ve also tried Captain American because, why not? And Triple Berry. Both good.

I have tried some of the shakes. Each shake has between 200 and 300 calories and 24 grams of protein. The peanut butter was very good. My daughter has tried the shamrock and cheesecake and she declared both of these excellent. The amount of protein in each of the shakes is surprising because they do not taste like your average protein shakes.

The menu also offers boosters and combos. For example, if you’re looking for a pre work out drink, they’ve got you covered. Looking for something to aid in digestion? They have that as well.

The shakes are a good option for lunch if you’re tired of fast food and want something a bit healthier and definitely different. They may be the fad of the moment or maybe it’s a new trend for healthier options. They are definitely very popular and they are busy. If it’s a good product people will keep coming back.
